Tolox is in the foothills of the Sierra de las Nieves national park making it a great location for walkers, birdwatchers, cyclists and nature lovers in general. The village hosts several good restaurants and bars, and has many shops, 2 banks, an information centre, and in the summer months a large municipal pool.

The city of Malaga and the airport are approximately 45 minutes drive away, as are the beaches, shops and chic restaurants of Marbella and Puerto Banus. The historical city of Ronda is an hour away, and well worth a visit, a little further afield is the capital city of Andalucia, Sevilla and also Granada with the Alhambra palace.
